Hands on development of animal forms through drawing that you can be paint in imaginative ways.

  • Ended
  • Bay Street

Service Description

The workshop will be related to the “ Bunnyperson” project between Algoma University and the City of Sault Ste. Marie. Works from that project are currently being installed and should be available for viewing at the start of the workshop. The project involved developing a template for a general character- the “ Bunnyman”- that students developed in their own way. At the start, works were very small scale studies using small paper and wood cut-outs. In later stages of the class, students took insights from those studies and painted the large scale figures that eventually were installed in public, in Sault Ste. Marie. This day long work shop will follow some of the procedures used in that class. Students will be asked to imagine a character or characters based in animals and to do a series of very rapid drawing that will develop the character. Those drawings will then be used to create a template of the character and a subsequent series of small interpretative works on paper. The emphasis will be on imagination, speed and fun!
