JUNE 21 - 25, 2022

This five-day festival is hosted in Baawaating • Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario featuring real-time creation of large-scale public art, an Indigenous dance preformance in honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day and live music performances by SHAD, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, and  Skratch Bastid. This festival also features Northern Ontario's largest Indigenous market as well as multidisciplinary artist workshops from industry professionals and community members.

The Summer Moon Festival features the creation of large-scale public art combined with musical performances and professionally-led community programming that celebrates this powerful location as a meeting ground, and looks to the future of what we can become.

Throughout the global pandemic over the last two years, the Summer Moon Festival has continued to bring explosions of colour and artworks world-renowned artists to Northern Ontario. This year marks the Festival’s return to music, food, community gathering, and celebrations!  

Summer Moon Festival is made possible by the support of festival organizers the Indian Friendship Centre, Downtown Association (BIA) building owners, volunteers, and the community, with support from the City of Sault Ste. Marie.
